band(s): Florence and the Machine

After one too many hazy nights at Smash & Grab (a club night hosted by Queens of Noize at Punk) Rob found himself playing guitar on a few of Florence’s (of Florence and the Machine) early demos at which time she was courting various record label A&Rs. Their live debut was at SXSW in Austin which earned them a ‘Best Performance’ accolade from the NME. Soon after SXSW they were offered a support slot following MGMT around Europe for a month.

Times have certainly changed; Florence and the Machine are moving into Abbey Road to record their second long player, they rocked the Grammies, the Oscars, duetted with Elton John and are supporting U2 in North America this summer whilst on their US tour.

Rob has also begun writing and recording sessions with other acts such as Pixie Geldof, Lissy Truly and Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio.
