Do you meet your estimated delivery dates?
We have never missed a delivery date. We work in a very organized an methodical manner. We start and finish 1-2 instruments each day we work in the shop. We know exactly what days we are going to work in the shop, and exactly how long each instrument takes to build, so our start & string dates are very exact.
For all instruments, we have UkeTracker which allows you to track the progress of your custom ukulele on a daily basis.
When is the balance due?
The balance is due when we complete the instrument. On the day we string your custom ukulele, we'll send you an email with a link to the final pictures, as well as instructions on how to pay the balance.
You are welcome to pay all or part of the balance earlier, if you wish.
Do I need to know all the instrument details before I order?
No. You are welcome to put down a $300 deposit (you can find a pay button on this page) to reserve a start date in our schedule. You have about 4 months after that to finalize all the configuration details.
Do I get to see photos of wood sets and choose which will be used for my build?
Yes! Here's a video we put together on the wood selection process.
Can I change my configuration after I have ordered?
Yes! Your configuration will have a "freeze date" about two months prior to the projected start date and you can change your configuration any time prior to the freeze date. You'll get a reminder email as the date approaches. At that time, we start elements of your instrument such as the neck & fretboard and we insure that we have all the correct wood & bindings available for your specific custom ukulele.
Can I get custom inlay?
Yes! We offer custom inlay work on the fretboard (but no other parts of the instrument). All of our owner inlay work is done by Larry Robinson. If you're interested in inlay work, we move your freeze date back by a month, and we put you in touch with Larry. All discussions & agreements on design/pricing/payment are between you and Larry. Take a look at this video we did on the subject.
Can I choose any combination of woods for my headplate?
Yes! We offer 4 headplates as "standard" (no additional charge). For an additional charge, we will make a custom headplate, which is usually made from your body wood and binding wood.
By request we can put on a solid wood headplate that uses the same wood as the body of the ukulele.
What other custom options do you offer?
The majority of our options are listed on our pricing page. In general, these are the only options that we offer.
Do you ship outside of the United States?
Yes. We ship via US Postal Service using Priority Express International. The cost is +$110 for any of the models.
Can I make a full or partial payment before the instrument is complete?
Yes. You can use this page to make a payment on your balance.
What is your warranty?
Here is a video that we did on our warranty policy. You can also read our official warranty here.
